Beats and Eats: Jazz Concert + Food Drive

There’s a community music event coming up that I wanted to share, especially with everything going on around food insecurity and possible SNAP cuts. It’s called Beats and Eats, and it’s a live jazz night that supports the Allston–Brighton Food Pantry by collecting food donations. When: Friday, Nov 21, 8–10pm Where: Allston–Brighton Food Pantry 404 Washington St, Boston, MA 02135 Free parking available at the venue. How to Participate: Entry is by donation:<ul><li>Bring canned goods (vegetables, fruit, beans, tuna, soup)</li><li>Or pantry staples (rice, pasta, peanut butter, cereal, shelf-stable milk)</li><li>If you don’t have food to bring, you can donate $5 at the door.</li></ul>With the current instability around assistance programs like SNAP, the need at local food pantries is especially high. This is a simple way to help neighbors directly. What to Expect:<ul><li>Live jazz from local musicians</li><li>A relaxed, all-ages environment</li><li>There’s also a small thrift shop at the pantry, plus refreshments</li><li>You’re welcome to stay the whole time or just stop in for a bit</li></ul>If you’re looking for a way to support the community that feels approachable and positive, this is a nice option. Music + helping people eat is a good combination.
