Their food pantry operates across five locations, serving around 300 households per week, with around 75-80% of guests residing in Somerville and most from the surrounding cities. About 30% of the more than 3,000 individuals they support yearly are children, and 16% are seniors. Their work is vital, as one in three Massachusetts households faced food insecurity in 2023. EPH has responded by expanding pantry hours and increasing the variety of food they distribute to address this. And this holiday season, they hope to distribute 400-500 Thanksgiving dinners, including turkeys, to ensure their guests can celebrate around the table as a family or community.
