Think&nbsp;Freaks and Geeks&nbsp;meets&nbsp;Are You There God? It’s Me, Margaret—with a killer punk soundtrack. This semi-autobiographical tale celebrates the late-’80s punk scene, featuring vivid accounts of legendary shows at City Gardens in Trenton and venues across Philly. Bands like the Circle Jerks, GWAR, Murphy’s Law, The Dead Milkmen, PIL, New Order, The Sugarcubes, The Cure, 10,000 Maniacs, 24-7 Spyz, Vision, and Soundgarden echo throughout this Gen X anthem of youth, rebellion, and self-discovery. Cameran’s journey from punk rock girl and band geek to self-published author is as raw and real as the pages of her books. In her talk,&nbsp;“Adventures and Misadventures in Self-Publishing,”&nbsp;she’ll share the triumphs, mistakes, and lessons learned the hard way—because, let’s face it, self-published authors&nbsp;are&nbsp;the punks of the literary world.
