A Gilded Christmas at Historic William Hickling Prescott House on Beacon Hill  Special Tours and Entertainment for Guests from Friday, December 9 through Sunday, December 11, 2022 BOSTON, MA - The <a href="http://www.nscdama.org/">National Society of Colonial Dames in Massachusetts</a> will be opening up its headquarters, The William Hickling Prescott House on 55 Beacon Street on Beacon Hill, from Friday, December 9th through Sunday, December 11th to celebrate the holidays with our friends and neighbors. Each day will offer special entertainment, such as: <ul><li>Friday, December 9 – 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM – live music on our 1808 piano by Jayne Young</li><li>Saturday, December 10 – 1:00 PM – 5:00 PM – concert by the Back Bay Bell Ringers</li><li>Sunday, December 11 – 1:00 PM – 5:00 PM – performance by the Boston College Madrigal Singers</li></ul> “We are excited to open up <a href="https://nscdama.org/properties/william-hickling-prescott-house/">Prescott House </a>at 55 Beacon Street for this special holiday weekend to share our beautiful mansion across from the Boston Common so that more people can experience what life was like for a Beacon Hill family in the 1800’s, said Lydia Kimball, President of the National Society of Colonial Dames of America in Massachusetts. “Our headquarters is one of the top examples of Federal architecture in Boston. It was built in 1808 for the Boston merchant, James Smith Colburn on land purchased from John Singleton Copley, America’s most accomplished colonial portrait painter, who once owned the land. “We’re so excited for “A Gilded Christmas” at Prescott House this year, said Patricia Tully, Executive Director, Beacon Hill Civic Association. “We have always thought that Prescott House was a “neighborhood hidden gem” and believe that it’s a great idea to open up this historic museum for a holiday weekend to share it with friends and neighbors alike.” About The National Society of Colonial Dames in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts The National Society of The Colonial Dames of America in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts (NSCDAMA) is an organization of women that actively promotes and conserves our national heritage. Our activities are focused on historic preservation, patriotic service and educational projects. The Massachusetts Colonial Dames are organized as a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization. NSCDMA owns and operates three historic houses in Massachusetts – the Prescott House in Boston, the Quincy Homestead in Quincy, and Martin House Farm in Swansea.
