Summer day trips from Boston? (without a car)
My family is visiting in August and I want to take them to a classic New England town - preferably with a nice beach and good food! we don’t have a car so something we can access by train would be nice!

Provincetown
This could be a controversial idea because people typically go to Provincetown for a few days but you can easily make it a day trip. Hop on a ferry (an experience in itself) early morning from Long Wharf, get off and walk around town. Get lunch at The Canteen, hang by the beach afterwards, grab drinks at one of the bars on the strip and people watch then grab dinner at the Lobster Pot before taking the sunset ferry back to Boston 😌

Singing Beach
You can get there via commuter rail and the beach is really nice!! Located in manchester by the sea which is a cute little town but the beach is the best part

Also on the same train line as the towns mentioned in this post 🚂 Very classic New England town with amazing waterfront views, yet no beach
