not technically a hike but you can walk from the common to jamaica plan and it’s all accessible by the T!

Mount Auburn Cemetery
Ok not a traditional hike at all but I really love walking around this cemetery in the fall especially. It’s also an arboretum and the trees and nature is stunning. Accessible by bus!

Middlesex Fells Reservation
You can get pretty close to one of the entrances here via train/bus. Or you can Uber. Lots of trails and nature to explore here. Especially nice during spring and fall.

Rock Circuit Trail
Technically part of the middlesex fells reservation in Stoneham. Another one close to it is Crystal Springs Loop. You can uber to this place easily.

Take the 100 Bus to Elm St in Medford and walk up Elm Street to Wright’s Pond. Lots of trails up in there (download a map from DCR). You can also walk over I-93 via Roosevelt Circle and access trails to Wrights Tower & more.
