Gloucester is such a fun day trip on the commuter rail. There are a ton of fun bars walkable from the station and then just an uber away from the beach

    Ogunquit Maine

Ogunquit, Maine is an easy day trip. Less than an hour and a half away. Cute shopping area, great places to eat and drink, walk along the Marginal Way for gorgeous views. You also go right by Portsmouth, New Hampshire on the way which could probably be a fun day trip on its own, and if you are into shopping, there are outlets in Kittery, Maine along the way (and Yummy’s Candy Store if you have a sweet tooth). I try to do this trip on a spring/fall weekend versus the height of the summer because I imagine traffic is worse, so you just might want to check that out. You don’t really need a plan…it’s easy to navigate once you are there.

    Newburyport via MBTA Commuter Rail

Take advantage of MBTA $10 Commuter Rail Weekends and head up to Newburyport for the day. Once there, there is so much to see from the shops to the galleries to the restaurants and waterfront views 🌊🥂 P.S. The same train goes to Salem and is a shorter ride, which makes for an amazing day-trip destination as well ☀️

    Rockport

Take the commuter rail to Rockport, walk a short distance to the beach, and go to Roy Moore for the most amazing lobster 🦞 Also Rockport is so cute to walk around and take in all the quirkiness and artsy stores
